Despite knowing the founder, today was the first time i went to elixir and had a treatment myself. i haven’t really gone before because i’m generally pretty anti–“new age” stuff and have always been a little hesitant as a result. i signed up for a Korean hair spa, and i have to say — it was nothing short of incredible. i genuinely have no idea where those 90 minutes went. from the bed with a built-in foot wash basin and hair wash basin (!!!), all kinds of automated features (they have a shirodhara style waterfall shower just for the head), to the kindest, gentlest therapist (meena, if you ever want to try) — everything was amazing. the spa itself was literally heaven. i felt instantly transported, going through one round after another of completely new and different massage techniques, treatments, and steam rituals for my hair — which somehow feels surprisingly soft and bouncy right now (rare for limp, fine hair after a spa). i honestly can’t help but strongly recommend trying it. no strings attached here, just a genuine and honest review of this fantastic set up.
